Největší rašeliniště na severní Moravě typu rozvodnicového vrchoviště s přechody ke slatinám, vzniklo v postglaciálu (před 6 - 7 tisíci lety) a jeho přírodní prostředí se uchovalo díky chladnému klimatu. Ve východní a západní částí se nacházejí jezírka, k Velkému mechovému jezírku vede naučná stezka. Rašeliniště má specifické rostlinstvo a živočišstvo s řadou chráněných a ohrožených druhů rostlin a živočichů. Důležitým prvkem ochrany je důsledné zamezení vstupu do rezervace mimo turistické cesty, rašeliništní společenstva jsou velmi citlivá na sešlapání.

The largest peat bog in northern Moravia of the floodplain type, originated in postglacial period (6-7 thousand years ago) and its nature enviroment has been preserved thanks to the cold climate. There are lakes in the eastern and western parts, and educational trail leads to the Great Mossy Lake (Velké Mechové jezírko). The peat bog has specific flora and fauna with a number of protected and endangered species of plants and animals. An important element of protection is the consistent prevention of entering the reservation off the beaten track, peatland communities are very sensitive to trampling.

An original project that offers tourists self-service bar in the middle of forests on the border on the Jeseníky Mountains and the Rychleby Mountains. Forest bars are situated along the road from Horní Lipová towards the border mountain Smrk. In the main bar there are rest areas with shelters, fireplaces, dry toilets, wooden gutters with flowing spring water and cooling a wide range of drinks - lemonades, juices, beer, energy drinks, etc. There are small snacks, a gas bomb with a stove and other equipment. Everything is paid for in freely accessible money box and the owners rely on the honesty of the people.

Protected nature reserve: the wetlands also include peat meadows lying between the melioratite moat and the Vidnávka riveron the left side of the road to the state border with Poland. Rare species of aquatic plants occur in the community of swamps alders, willows, reeds and sedges. The extraordinary diversity of animal species is confirmed here. Many species of birds have been observed in the wetlands. The Vidnava wetlands represent a unique natural locality, which is one of the most important in the entire Jeseník district.

Exposition of settlements in the Vidnava region is divided into several parts: geomorphology, zoology, demonstration of black medieval cuisine and presentation of important personalities from Vidnava and its surrounding.
